So much to say about you mummy, but where do I start? Words fail me! I never thought a day like this would come and even now that it is here it is still very hard to believe.
Mummy you had such a beautiful heart, you saw the good in people and in every situation good or bad.
You opened your arms to embrace me as a daughter many years ago in Wukari and you have never loved me less.
Together we had so many beautiful memories. We cried mummy you were a pillar of support for me back in 1978 as a little girl aged 11years who just left home for the very first time
I have watched you cherish simple moments as when I come to visit during our monthly exit days. You are never overwhelmed with the number of students that come visiting you always had enough food and entertainment to go round I have seen the way you are kind and understanding beyond words to everyone come across
I remember our kitchen experiments during the holidays, the few extra days I spend with you and your family before my dad comes to pick me is always so much fun. I remember like yesterday one particular pie experiment we did together “toad in a hole” you called it .It came out a very delicious pie dish and we all enjoyed it.
One particular holiday my dad had driven in from Sokoto and wanted us to embark on a return journey same day. You said no, you stood your ground that he was not going to hit the road with me same day, you ceased his car key and compelled him to rest and spend the night
Mummy you always encouraged me to strive to be a better person in life.
Today I pay tribute to a wonderful woman, a woman of worth, a proverbs 31st woman , a rare gem of a woman. I wished I had spoken more with you on this side of eternity but I am consoled that you are home with our lord and personal savior Jesus Christ
Although our hearts ache with sorrow we take comfort in knowledge that our beloved mother is resting in peace and watching over us from above. Her sweet spirit lives on in our memories, and will carry her love in our hearts always.
